The Pacific Science Center began as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.   It now operates as an independent, not-for-profit educational foundation dedicated to increasing the public's understanding and appreciation of science, mathematics and technology through interactive exhibits and programs.

The Pacific Science Center features numerous featured exhibits as well as the popular permanent exhibits:  Dinosaurs, Butterfly House, Insect Village, Puget Sound Model and Saltwater Tide Pool, Animal Exhibits, How Your Body Works, and numerous other exhibits.

The Willard Smith Planetarium presents live astronomy demonstrations in an intimate setting encouraging interaction between visitors and the Planetarium Demonstrators.

IMAX theater presentations have included  NASCAR 3D, Coral Reef Adventure, Bugs! in 3D, Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West, Destiny in Space, and The Dream is Alive.

The Laser Show is an experience of  brilliant colors, intense imagery, and breathtaking aerial beams that are projected throughout the larger than life Adobe Laser Dome. Choreographed to music, the shows feature state of the art laser light animation. Each live performance is an individual and unforgettable experience.
